In 'Unravellings' images of swatches, samples, patterns, folds, fragments and surfaces drawn from the Standfast and Barracks archive, are layered and juxtaposed.  References are made to the complex processes of manufacturing printed textiles and to innovations in dye chemistry; to textile design practice with repeat systems, grids, and modular compositional devices; to the hand of the individual, and the telling of personal and collective stories.
A celebration of Lancaster’s rich heritage in the area of textiles production.
